WE'VE MOVED!

2008 has been a year of many changes. It's been our first year with our baby girl, Parker. She has been such a joyful addition to the family. It's also been the year that my photography business really took off. I enjoyed working with so many families and children, and had the pleasure of photographing some first time parents and their precious newborns. It's been amazing.

Everybody says things come in 3's. They're right. The 3rd major thing is relocating from California to Arizona. I never imagined we would leave California, but now that we have, it's been the best change for our family. We left behind close family, friends, and jobs, but the new beginning in Arizona is more promising than what our lives held in the past.

MY POOR BLOG... LA VIDA LOCA

This poor thing has been so neglected! It seems photography has taken up all of my free time, so making hair accessories has been put on the back burner for a little while. Couple that with 3 moves and a new baby in a year, and well, no further excuses needed!

Davy and I are coming up on our 8th anniversary this month, and I have to say, this has been the most bitter sweet of all 8. We are trying to buy a home in Scottsdale, AZ right now, so our eyes are fixed on what the future holds. We have said so many times recently... "It's time to hunker down and raise our family." Maybe it's something that comes with age or maybe it comes with parenting, but we are ready to settle down and stay in one place for the a looooong, loooong time. No more moving, please!

My other dilemma is having 3 blogs and 2 businesses. I am spread too thin for a busy mom of 2. From now on, I'll be posting everything on my photography blog. Please update your linkage for me and follow me over to Park Ave Photography.

Where have I been? Spending more time behind the lens of my Canon & less time in the bow studio. My daughter Peyton is now 3.5 yrs and is enjoying modeling more than ever. I think because she understands that she is creating a "shot" with every pose that she gets a thrill out of it. She no longer lets me coach her... miss independent knows what she's doing, ha!

It's been 2 years since we started modeling on ebay. I remember the days of chasing her around with the camera and being terrified that she would fall down and get the outfit dirty... the days of the mid photoshoot meltdowns and pushing my stroller around the park loaded up with props, snacks, and clothing... boy, we've come a long way, baby!

Now you can visit us at parkavemodeling.com. We have 4 little models that I work with, including Miss Peyton. As soon as my 3 month old, Miss Parker, gets a little older, she'll be available for modeling as well.

So I may make bows to match the outfits we model or participate in a group launch for my design group Anthology Inc., but the days of cranking out massive bow orders are gone. I couldn't be happier to be moving on to photography... this is more "me" than bows ever were.

I'll keep up this blog to share some of our latest modeling and the ocassional matchy-match hair accessory. My accessories will be available direct through email or listed on ebay or etsy. They are all one-of-a-kind, so if you see something you like, let me know right away!
